Questions for Admins:

Keitha and I have been talking about the very large number of Views on Posts when there are so few of us actively participating on the Forum. And I do know that we often go back to view Posts but don't always comment over and over but don't think that would generate so many views.

I notice that there are usually a dozen or more "guests" at the bottom of the pages along with the Bing Bot and real people. Do Admins know if they are real people or are they Bots, Google, etc? and do they generate most of the Views?

I don't know if we have a way to correlate guests and views. I know I often look at posts late at night and don't post messages. So I'll work on commenting more often.

I don't always comment. I do wish we had a like button or a thumbs up. Maybe I should just start clicking the applause smillie.

I think the only way to stop people from viewing is to make it a private group.

I thought this was a private group? Does that mean that or photos and messages can be seen by the general public?

The address list is locked, but I think the rest can be viewed without logging in.

In the history of PAO, has anyone ever joined after stumbling across us?
I would vote for making the forum private - if we ever voted on it.

I don't think anyone has just stumbled in here and joined... but... I don't have a clue how we'd make this forum part private. That would also negate the techs at the hosting site to check things when they have to fix it for us.

I'd also point out that a lot of times when I log in I'll check all the new threads and not comment, but I do read. So that accounts for a fair number of those hits.
