I've watched Missy Whidden use them on lots of layouts but haven't bought any yet.... they do look super on backgrounds. Maybe I'll splurge and buy some and try them out on cards, too. :)

I’ve had just one color for years and never use it. Gesso makes all the difference. Now that I have more colors, I imagine I’ll use them.

I will - you didn't say which colors you bought. Did you get Shimmerz or a variety of their products?

I got these:

Creameez - Lapis Dance
Inklingz - Penny 4 your thoughts and Blue my mind
Shimmerz - Peacock's Plume, Pink-O de mayo, lilac blossom, bumbly bee, moulin rouge

should be fun!!

have to add Gesso to my "bring with me" list :)

Not Shimmerz related, but for some reason this thread caused my brain to go another direction. (Not hard to do with my screwy brain!)

I wonder what would happen if some Perfect Pearls was mixed in gesso or modeling paste? That would be one way of using the seemingly non-ending stuff.

Think I'll be playing later.

That's a brilliant idea. Adding some mist could make the color richer. Or try scribbling some gelatos on a piece of plastic and then add the other media.
I'll bring those to the beach Debi.

What makes Shimmerz different from Twinkling H2O's that we've - or at least I've - had for years? Is it just another brand of basically the same thing?
I think you gals should declare (re)Create a Mixed Media retreat this year - but don't tell the homeowner, LOL.

Twinkling H2Os are (dry) watercolors. Shimmerz are liquid and I feel more translucent than what TH2O's are. I should do a side by side comparison.
The brand has several different products though - all similar but different - some aren't glittery/shimmery at all.

Not a great photo. IRL, the Shimmerz have much more
Shimmer but there’s not a whole lot of difference unless you’re looking very closely.

I was amazed at the difference of the Iridescent green compared on black cardstock vs. the water color paper.

Thanks for this Pam. If I didn't already have twinks I might be interested in shimmerz, but what I have will do me.

I would agree Keitha. They are very similar - more than I imagined with that very small side by side comparison. I was happy to see that I didn't duplicate most of the colors.
