April 2021 Christmas Paper Crafts

Post by gwendols »

I don't know about you, but I'm always trying to make gift card holders as I need them. I decided to make gift card holders my April paper craft. In the past I have used dies or just free-handed making a gift card holder. I checked on Pinterest and went down a rabbit-hole looking at all the amazing and creative ways to make gift card holders. I made a few to begin with and plan to go back in this month and make more.

The first two pictures (red card holder) I used measurements I found on Pinterest. (I will add the directions for this). The second set of larger tags I made to incorporate the full gift card packages you usually get when buying in a store. I made these myself just measuring the paper around the gift card and embellishing as I went.

So try making a few if you'd like. I know these will save me lots of time when needed. :)

Another holder I made - this is actually the one I followed instructions on. LOL

Oh Gwen! What a fun challenge! Your examples are so creative!

After many years of being able to buy toys, my grands have grown up to the extent they want money or gift cards...this will be perfect, and I’ll have them ready for next Christmas rather than wondering what to make when time is scarce!

Excellent idea and lovely examples, Gwen! How doesn't end up giving at least one or two gift cards for Christmas?

I agree! What a great idea and it takes so little to decorate them making them look extra special.
Last weekend I almost put my Christmas stash in a top shelf. What a mistake that would be. It’s right there when I can easily grab it.
Looking forward to putting some of these together.

Those are all really fun! I made a bunch of gift card holders like that a few years ago, in an attempt to sell them at a craft fair. They were super easy to make, and I've been slowly using them each year since.

This has been on my mind. I hope to have time to make a few gift card cards before the end of the month.

I hope to make a few gift card holders for this month, but time’s moving too quickly, so they may be late.

This is a tri-fold money card I made last Christmas to put cash in for my two oldest grandsons; the belt slid off, then it opens revealing a slot holding the green stuff.

So cute! What a neat idea. I hate giving money, but it is what they want, so I find myself doing it more and more. Giving it in this makes it seem a lot more personal. Love it!

That's a great little envelope!

I agree Judy! When my kids were teens, they decided they would rather have cash because they knew the money would go further during the after Christmas sales. I started giving them small gifts and the cash.

Cards are convenient for mailing - cheaper than mailing packages - unless I order and have the gifts shipped directly to the recipient. It's all so impersonal. So the little touches like making DIY card holders helps soothe that feeling for me. Yes, I realize postal workers can steal gift cards as easily as cash.

Ramble, ramble...it's an horrific day at work so far...checking in PAO to help maintain a bit of sanity...

Today is my day to make some gift card holders!

Ta-Da!
This is one of those weeks when I feel like if I get anything done, it’s a major accomplishment!

These little origami gift card holders were so easy and fun to make. Thanks Gwen for the idea this month!
