Fun Challenge #4 - share your pets! Or birds. whatever ;)
Re: Fun Challenge #3 - share your pets! Or birds. whatever ;)
Oh how I love all your fur babies. They are precious.
And now for a slight change of pace, my feather babies. I love my wild birds of all shapes, sizes and species. This time of year the scene changes a bit and my wintering birds have arrived to share feeders and habitats with the year round species...or be eaten by one, LOL. Sorry, a little bird geek humor.
From the top: 3000+ Snow Geese just south of where I live and often bird. Next is an immature White-Crowned Sparrow and finally (on this page:) the Yellow-Rumped Warbler. They are in my trees “chipping” every morning and late afternoon. All of these photos were taken out in agricultural habitats.
One more set...

I could go forever with my feather babies but I’ll stop at these last three.
Top is one of about 100,000+ Greater White Fronted Geese at my nearby Cosumnes River Preserve with 1000s of Snow Geese in the background. Next female Common Mergansers that show up at my neighborhood lake about now through December . And finally, Red-Shouldered Hawk that is here all year round. She is my favorite raptor. I love all raptors but she is so flashy and very vocal. I always hear them before I see them.
I am so fortunate to live in the Central Valley that hosts these magnificent birds and I don’t have to go far to enjoy them. Many of them visit my yard like the Warbler and the Sparrow above.

I'm really enjoying this thread.
First thing I noticed were Belle's white whiskers; never occurred to me that's part of the aging process of a black cat. Very cool.
Pam, Apollo has that Churchill expression down pat!
Kathy, it's obvious Chloe enjoys the lead sled every bit as much as you and Dennis do.
Gwen, you can just tell from the expression on Cheerio's face that he keeps life interesting!
Callie certainly knows a good thing when she sees it. Duke, too!
Pam, Ghost is a beauty. Bugs Bunny suits his name to a T.
Katherine, is Bailey more vocal as orange tabbies often are?
Farley, you know I always enjoy photos of your feathered friends. That RSHA is a beauty!

No pets allowed here! So I get my dog vibes from all the wonderful dogs playing/swimming on the beach. We do have many resident birds who keep me entertained. The trees at the back are now in flower and today was the day the Rainbow Lorikeets came to eat their fill. They are the noisy characters in our neighborhood.

What fun to have Rainbow Lorikeets as your local avian fare. How nice that the females get to enjoy such colourful finery as well. Marianne, do you know what type of flower s/he is eating?
Re: Fun Challenge #3 - share your pets! Or birds. whatever ;)
What a beautiful bird, Marianne! How fun to have them right there to watch and enjoy.

OH I love Rainbow Lorikeets! I think the noisiest birds on the planet are in Australia. They're all just beautiful.

Marianne I am so jealous, LOL. What a gorgeous bird to enjoy, noise and all.

They really are noisy, I wonder how they eat and do so much squawking at the same time.
Keitha, I don't know what the tree name is, there are too many palms, I'll ask in the office or one of the gardeners. I'll take a photo from the ground when we go out.
Farley, you would have a wonderful time here. This morning as we ate our breakfast on the balcony a young sea eagle flew by with its freshly caught breakfast.
