what is it?

My turn to ask what this is. Found it at the bottom of my scrappy tool tote, and have no idea what it's for or where it came from. Feels like it's made from some kind of stone. I'm guessing it's a tool that came with something else, given the unmarked cellophane wrap it was in. Anyone recognize it? I'd hate to toss it - just to find out later it's exactly the thing I need for whatever, LOL.

Maybe a tool for doing dry embossing? It looks so familiar. Maybe a score tool?

Maybe it was for rub ons instead of the wooden stick

Wow, this is a puzzler! Good answers from everyone. Burnishing or dry embossing sounds plausible.
