Congratulations Card

The wildlife biologist that I have done volunteer surveys for the past 5 years is moving out of state. His wife, also a wildlife biologist, was awarded an amazing job in Utah. She is already there and he leaves this week. We volunteers are going to surprise him tomorrow at the Preserve. We are going to miss him big time. I spent all day worrying over this card. I knew exactly what stamps I would use but making a scenic card is not my thing. I tried to make this scene look as much like the wetlands at the Preserve as possible. At any rate having stamps of a Bald Eagle, Canada Goose and shorebirds fit the bill exactly since he has spearheaded the two projects that I’ve worked on...Waterbird Survey in the fall/winter and raptor survey in the spring/summer. Both of which have been on hold since mid-March due to Covid and quarantine.

The Bald Eagle is Altenew and everything else is from Stampin’ Up. Water coloring was done using CP inks and a water brush. The deckel edge panel I drew and then made on my KNK.

What a beautiful creation, Farley!

I agree with Marianne, I love the edge of the focal layer.

You need to market & sell that edge! It's perfect for so many themes.

He'll love that card. Who wouldn't??

Thank you everyone! I’m headed out shortly with it to join the surprise group.

Pam and Sue...it’s been done by Tim and several other stamp/die companies several years ago. I do have the Tim set but the largest one wasn’t big enough for a 5X7 card. So I made my own which I can resize as needed. I also created an oval one but haven’t tried it out yet. Getting the KNK to cut it took a little creativity but it works great each time now. I do like how it looks and think I need to make a pile to have on hand. Actually like it better than Tim’s.

If you have a silhouette, scan-n-cut or cricket you too can make these. Or just rip one, LOL.

I just found three deckle edge designs in the Silhouette store and will be putting them in my cart. I think what makes yours look so much better is the beautiful artwork.

Gorgeous card Farley; I'm sure it was well received!

I recognized that eagle stamp as a friend and I were just discussing eagle stamps on the weekend. While I could certainly use an eagle stamp with all my Alaska photos, I don't want to buy a patriotic stamp set where I'd never use half of them, and surprisingly none of the other big stamp companies seem to have good options either.
