My Dad

Post by pamcook »

I would appreciate your prayers for my dad. He’s the 4th person in his nursing home to test positive for Covid+. They tested him 2 days ago so now we hold our breath for 19 more days. So far no symptoms and a negative chest X-ray.
My brother works there but just got a promotion and is moving to another state. Not sure when they can move Dad (after Dad’s “negative” and when they have an opening). Dad’s dementia never cleared after his fall so he doesn’t mind the quarantine.

keeping him in my prayers.

One of our providers told me that to keep daily
watch a simple oximetry can indicate if there is
a lung problem, if the oxygen saturation goes down
the virus is affecting the lungs, with that indicator
they can do a follow up xray

Yes, he's right of course. Imagine - such an easy, non-invasive thing that provides a tremendous amount of information.

I know, right. When he told me that, I was like, well that's easy enough, I already have the oximeter
