Neglected Supplies May - Wood Veneers

You've been seeing a lot of wood veneers from me lately as I'm putting them on all my Alaska pages, so decided my sample for the Neglected Supplies challenge needed to be different. I went looking for pieces that I wouldn't miss in my Alaska album and very quickly a theme emerged. Chasing leaves, bicycles and kittens, riding in the car to the dog park, going for a boat ride at the cottage - I can just imagine Cooper dreaming of all these things.
I coloured my veneers with Distress Stains and found different brands took the ink differently. Paint would give you a more consistent look, or you could leave them natural. The photo is backed with pieces of a glassine bag, and I used acrylic paint on my wonky chipboard frame around the outside of the page.
The challenge is to use wood veneers. Wood buttons, wood slices (a la Tim Holtz), wood/epoxy brads, wood frames, wood 'paper' meant for die-cutting, tiny clothespins, wooden game pieces - any embellishment made of wood qualifies. I'm giving you bonus points for using a mixed media product/technique on your page. Show us your wood veneers, ladies.
