Neglected Supplies April Stencils

Post by katymjo »

The challenge this month is to use those stencils that are lurking, unloved in your craft room. This is a layering stencil from Club Scrap, March 2008, and I used Distress inks in those Honey, Marmalade, Marigold colours. I liked the way it turned out so I used it once on a card and again on a layout.

Oh Kathryn! Bonus points to you for doing both a scrapbook page and a card! The colors are so pretty.

Hm...I wonder where I've stashed all my stencils...they can't be too far away...

Layering stencils, who knew? Kathryn, both your card and page wonderful; that stencil in those colours really says 'summer'.

Ahhhhh, yes. I have A LOT of CS stencils that are VERY neglected. This challenge is going to take some thought on my part, but I really love what you've done, Kathryn.

I can’t get a good picture of this today.

I sure ended up covering a lot of the stenciled design. I used one of those mousse products with glitter mixed in.

Glad you've found your stencil stash, Pam. Here's another card using the same Distress colours. This stencil was the "freebie" on a craft magazine a couple of years ago.
I am using my Stamp Platform with the magnets to hold my paper and stencil in place. It works really well!

Very pretty. That's a nice versatile stencil. Sometimes freebies aren't as nice as this one.
Today I'm going to try to use stickles with a stencil. My stash of stickles isn't being used at all.

Dang. Where is everyone?!

This is how my experiment turned out. I highly recommend using Stickles with your stencils. I used some old Lumiere paints to tint the Crystal Stickles to make the colors I needed. Not sure what I’ll do with it but will get a page made with it sometime today.

Kathryn, love the idea to use the stamp press and magnets with the stencils; I'll have to try that. Another really nice card.
Pam, did you scrape the stickles through the same as other pastes? Did the stickles come off your stencils easily?
