My Surgery

Right hip replacement done, first patient this morning.
Up out of bed twice. So far, so good. Hope to go home on Thursday.

The pain, the pain. I am feeling like a wimp. Amazing what a spinal block will do. LOL, and now it's gone. My surgery was more complicated, due to tight area and size. More details not needed here. Lying in bed is uncomfortable, so sitting in a chair. Walked the hall a bit.

The plan is to go home, with Greg and Dan being my helpers. Please keep a good thought.

I’ve taken care of many hip replacement patients. Just because insurance companies say so doesn’t mean patients should go home so soon.
Let those men care for you and move as much as you safely can.

I am home. My doctor did say I could stay till tomorrow if I wanted. My favorite thing is not having to wait for staff to help you into bathroom, watch you sit and then get you safely back to bed or chair. Whew. Being a patient is not fun. Blessings to all the nurses out there.
