Re: Outdoor activities

My husband was going through pictures he took last September when he and the boys went out to the east coast. This was taken in Acadia National Park in Maine.

I hope you can see ACADIA along the left edge of the layout -I used the Eclipse technique and raised the letters from the patterned paper. I just love that background paper (Paper House Productions/Seascape), but every time I tried to use it on something, I failed. I think I finally succeeded. The lighthouse is off the internet - I printed it on clear sticker paper and cut it out.

Still using up scraps!! Just got a bunch of dies via Aliexpress.com. No idea if these are some brand or not. Just couldn’t resist all these seashore critters. I’ve only done these 3 so far. I have some others to do

(I’m home today. Have to go to a funeral in a couple hours.)

I am trying a new kind of journaling page for my holiday album to Scandinavia. I used acrylics, distress inks and brush pens, then added some die-cuts.

Added the two little fish and the seahorse. These are all going on the layouts from last fall when we had a birthday bash for Mike and his friends. We all went to the NC aquarium and I got photos of the other couples’ kids with all the sea creatures. They’ll be perfect for kid pages!!

A very basic watercolored stamp but nevertheless I watercolored this Altenew giant stamp with Catherine Pooler ink pads on the TH Media Mat. I added “metallic” (yes this is a crossover card:) corner stickers plus Nuvo Drops in metallic copper. Then slapped it onto a purple card base you can hardly see. These days I am into plain notecards sans sentiments.

Don’t look closely...it’s a bit messy but I liked the overall look.

So here is my crossover card using metallic corner stickers and Nuvo Drops in metallic copper. I think in many decorative venues, copper is my preferred metal accent. Altenew stamp watercolored with CP inks.

Using watercolours are some of my favourite techniques; I like how organic/imperfect they often are. This is a fairly simple art journal page that began with a watercolour Brusho technique. You lay a stencil on the paper and sprinkle Brusho crystals in the open spaces, then spritz it with water and carefully lift off the stencil. Simple technique with unpredictable and often surprising results, which I've paired with the precision diecuts for contrast.

Finally getting back to scrapbooking!!

Trying to channel my inner Shimelle or Pam C.

The stamped lilies are some layered stamps. Had fun making those.

It looked like a hot mess before I added the diecut (same one Pam used on a layout) but I stuck with it and like the result. Just a big cloud over home.

Applied gesso then watercolored swashes of blue and aqua on the background and then added some watered down gelatos.

No extra embellishing on this one. Just wanted those photos to stand out. The paper has a subtle fish print. Perfect for this osprey’s dinner time photo shoot.

Sitting here chuckling.... I hadn't remembered exactly how you had done your layout with that diecut, Pam.... so just searched for it... THAT must be where I got the idea to watercolor the background.... plus our watercolor challenge :-)

here's Pam's layout, again...

This is just a small textile project. We are meeting a college friend next week when they come to a holiday cottage on the Yorkshire coast. She does patchwork so I made her this little bag and will give her the pattern too!
