October Neglected Supplies Challenge - Punches

Post by pbp908 »

Let's rediscover one of the most neglected items in our bag of tricks: that item that we thought was the coolest thing ever when it came out, that item that's growing cobwebs in anticipation of at least being a Halloween decoration - the lowly punch.

Please excuse the photos - I literally can't see until at least 11:00 so I have no idea what they look like!

I found myself in need of 2 more Thanksgiving cards, so Farley's October challenge is perfect. I'll cross post.

I used an old leaf punch by Marvy Uchida punch that I didn't have the heart to donate.

Now that I take another look at the envelope, that leaf looks like a certain leaf that normally brings in the DEA!

Bonus points to me for a. using an ink pad that's been languishing here for years, b. using a stamp that's also been neglected, and c. making the post office suspicious about what exactly I'm mailing!

 If you mailed it to California it will go unnoticed. Terrific card Pam. I keep a small pile of punches near my desk...better go blow the dust off of them.

Lovely card and a great challenge. I was thinking the other day that I really need to get rid of most of my punches... then I shut the drawer again.

Unfortunately I got rid of a lot of punches that I now wish I'd kept like the hearts.

I missed the punch craze, so other than a few circle and border punches that's one supply I'm not tripping over in the Glitter Grotto. Your suspicious-looking leaf would go unnoticed in Canada as well, Pam.

Here’s a card using a corner punch and the scalloped circles.

Great cards! I have several drawers of punches and do pull one out every once in a while but tend to use the dies all the time.

I used the leaf punch on this page. That stamp gets quite the work out every December for my JYC projects - and then I forget about it.

Beautiful LO. She's growing up tooooo fast!

I love that punch and had totally forgotten I had it until a few weeks ago. I'm thinking that all of my leaf punches are going to now have a permanent place on the "easy to see" shelf.

Used the leaf punch, a butterfly punch, and a larger pinked circle punch on this card.
