My Mom
My Mom
My mom passed away earlier this month and I'm just now surfacing. My mom had muscular dystrophy and had been experiencing difficulty breathing her last few weeks. She went into the hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia. After a few days she realized that she would have to use her bipap machine 24/7 and it would greatly reduce her quality of life. She made the decision to be taken off all the machinery and we spent her last day together, watching movies and telling funny stories. As an artist, herself, she would tell me to get back to it right away and use my creativity to make something beautiful in her memory. I'm already dreaming up a Vintage Velma doll using some of her jewelry.

Lovely layout, Rachelle, and my condolences on your loss. There aren't words enough to ease grief, but know we're here with you.

Rachelle, I'm so sorry for your loss. That's a beautiful page showing your love for a beautiful woman.
Don't push yourself to do anything right now. Just take baby steps. It took me a long time to enjoy crafting again after my mom passed, but I eventually got back into it and am glad I didn't push it. It's all part of the grieving process.
Hugs to you.

So sorry for your loss Rachelle. Your mom was a strong woman, who made a very important decision, to leave this life on her own terms. Wow.I hope you have a wonderful time making the dolls with her jewelry. Take care of yourself.

How precious you were able to be with her. What memories were made that day!

Re: My Mom
I always loved seeing your posts here and on FB of you and your mom and all the wonderful experiences you shared and enjoyed with each other. I know how difficult it is to lose a mom and one of the best friends ever. Mine has been gone for nearly 20 years now.
Remember your mom at her best and not just the last few months. I have no doubt how special you were to her and she obviously raised a very special daughter. My deepest condolences and know in time it will get easier remembering all the good times with her.
