Layout gift for a co-worker

Post by nchoney »

One of my co-workers had her first baby last year... she's trying to get into scrapbooking so she can document all his baby photos, etc. Limited budget... so I had cut her a ton of baby image diecuts last year... not sure if she's made any pages.. but she keeps saying that she doesn't have all the stuff to do the layouts she sees online... I wonder if that's a common thought among new scrappers...

Anyway.... we saw a layout that had this adorable sentiment... and she had this perfect photo... so I made this layout for her tonight (honestly, I just kept forgetting to make it) and I'm hoping it's simple enough for her to see that she CAN do it :-)

I didn't have blue letters, but inked some pale green sticker letters with distress oxide ink... perfect!!

It certainly does seem overwhelming when you're just staring out. That's why I joined Club Scrap in my early days -- everything worked together and it was so easy to create a page.

You're page is adorable and she will love it. It's so nice of you to help her. I think I got rid of all my baby stuff a while back, but if I come across any, I'll send it to you to give to her.

That's a lovely gift for her! Starting out can certainly be overwhelming. Heck, even now I get overwhelmed just looking at stuff online.

Very nice of you, this can be the start of her documentation of his life.

She had bought a kit somewhere that has prompts for "First things" and other information. It was cute... she had told me she bought "the kit" ... I had a giggle at that.... :-)

She was out sick on Tuesday.... so I gave her the layout and some other papers yesterday and she was super excited! Always fun to make someone smile. She said she's going to bring in what she's been working on... and then maybe I can bring her some more goodies to jazz up her pages :-)

But, you know, when that baby is grown and looks back at whatever his mom creates.. he'll just be happy she had all those thoughts and put them on paper for him to see years from now. it won't matter whether they're jazzed up or not.
