I'll have to post them here as the Mac died. I'm working on this dratted tiny laptop with no access to anything other than basics. I can PM you a list of the names of the stamps if that'll help.

So... there's a friend of mine here at work who has started doing a Bible journaling project with about 16 ladies at her church. I stamped some things and did some diecuts for them... and they're all SUPER excited about adding those to their little books. She's who I gave the chalk inkpads to... and one of the ladies is having a ball stamping things with them. I asked her if she'd like any other supplies ...

I told her I'm going to start purging the duplicate papers and getting rid of things I'm not using... her eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning. She said they're definitely going to be doing some more of these workshops... this one is 8 weeks long.

I'm sure I'll be able to take donations at next year's re-create.... but if anyone wanted to send things to her, I'd gladly be the go-between person. Shipping paper would be pricey... but if you were getting rid of stamps/stickers/etc. I'm sure she'd be happy to let the ladies use them. She also does activities with the kids... so donations would surely get used.

I meant to take a photo of the stack of paper... 3 or 4 inches thick... felt good to go through those paper pads and get rid of papers I wouldn't use. Still have more to go through.. and THEN I can hit those 6x6 ones, too... need to get busy making cards again for the craft fair this fall, so may keep some of those pads for that... but need to use it or lose it! :-)

OooooOOoo maybe I can give her some Washi tape!! *grins*

Yesterday, I spent some time in my craft room. I emptied a 3-ring binder full of old diecuts (the kind we used to get at craft stores) and if that group finds a use for them, that's great. And I weeded through my punches and cut that stash in half. Or maybe less than half. She's getting a big bundle of punches. I just don't use them. I use the dies now. So those now have a happy home in their future. And I have some more space in the craft room. Yay!!!

I need to do that with my punches, I hardly ever use them and they are just taking up room.

I posted the Unity stamps as a RAK on their swap site and for some reason I was drawn to one person's post that she'd love to have them out of all of the others who posted. In subsequent messages I found out that she's handicapped and works as a counselor with several groups. Her husband is a retired police officer who has just finished school and is being ordained. (Found this out after I messaged her for her address.) She does a lot of card making with some of them and was very happy to have some more supplies. I asked her if she needs paper, embellishments, etc. and she said definitely yes. So... All of the purging and cleaning is making someone else very very happy and will hopefully help some of the people in her groups heal or at least put their problems aside for a while. I am so happy that I was drawn to her for no reason that I could discern at the time.

Sometimes if you listen you can hear that small still voice whispering to you and saying "This is who needs you."

Today my purge was more paper and about half my stash of 6x6 pads!! The lady at work will be excited to have more supplies for her church group!! And I'm excited to have some more space for the things I DO want to keep. Didn't get all the paper sorted through, but made a decent dent in it.

Joel doesn’t get it. I’m happy for others to have things I know I’m not going to use. We do find that our needs change, our tastes change, and just having a few new supplies energizes us. Sorting through with a critical eye (“will I use it or is it time to go?”) somehow motivates me.

This time of purging has been good for me!

I've bought lots of large packs of things over the years, too... grab bags, Tuesday morning finds, full kits of things... and only used parts. Also had lots of those 25-sheet packs from Tuesday Morning... already shared with Peggy and Helen... and then used plenty. Someone else can use them.

I cut my 6x6 pad stash in half... whoohhhooooo and went through the old binder full of stickers and gave her lots of those yesterday, too. I'm starting to see room in the scraproom... and then I have to dig into the other bedroom area and figure out what I've shoved in there. And I need to pull out all the Christmas stuff and figure out what I'm going to use. Way too much of that in the stash... but I do have lots of Christmas photos to scrap. I was doing the Journal Your Christmas and then really didn't scrap the rest of the Christmas photos. So... I think this year I'll do full layouts throughout December and sort of blend December Daily concept with the JYC concept and see how that goes.
