Thank you all! I love my PAO fam!

Rub it in, Pam. Of course I would have ended up having to cancel out again. :(

I just want 4 uninterrupted hours of sleep at this point and my orthopedic pillow from home!

Sitting here waiting - someone go out and take a photo of the sunrise for me!

Surgery went well but there's another one scheduled for tomorrow. If all goes well and the infection gets under control I'll go home with a drain and a vacuum unit. Will have home health nurse for a while, too and many trips to the wound center. My next do-it-yourself project will be let-someone-else do it.

Well, I guess that was a good news/bad news post. Sorry you have to have another surgery and that you will have so much baggage when you go home. At least you'll be getting a lot of use out of your new porch swing.

Oh dang Pam...sorry you are having another surgery. A shin guard sounds like a good idea! Wishing you to be home very soon. It sounds like they have a good plan for your recovery and healing.

1st surgery was tough because they gave me diulad (sp?) for pain so I was sick as a dog and 36 hous NPO. Last night after #2 all I would take for pain was Tylenol - refused everything and was much better, I'm on IV site #6 because the dratted antibiotics keep blowing my veins, so I am not a happy camper and can only type with one hand. My IV pole has been named C3PO because it's tall, shiny and drives everyone nuts because it's annoying and alarms every hour with amazing regularity. Me and my nurses are planning a sunrise ceremony to sneak up to the roof as soon as the IVs are removed and toss it off. We've decided that we'll sing RESPECT on the way up and have Flight of the Valkyries playing as it soars through the sky. My anesthesiologist wants to come too and video it. He's a stitch. Ex-military with my same sarcastic sense of humor - I've nicknamed him Hawkeye. :D

If I'd been able to get my sorry rear to the ground I would have! I did go out for a few minutes and sit in the swing - just to show it what a mess I made of myself for it!
