2019 May Card Challenge - Heavy Metal

Let’s pull out anything metallic and make a card or two. Metals are also great, I think, for guy cards. So metallic card stock (as below), embossing powders, stenciling gels, metal objects...you get the idea, right?

More cards to come but I whipped this one up just now. I was determined to get this challenge on the road on time. I used a Hero Arts heart die, cut from Tim metallic card stock as well as the two background panels. A sentiment will go on later if any when I need to use it.

Think Mother’s Day and/or Father’s Day cards. Have fun with this.

(Not easy to photograph the metallic effect)

Thanks Marianne and Pam! Looking at it I’ve decided it’s going to be my step-daughter and SIL’s anniversary card. Now to figure out how many years...I think its 14 or 15.

Needed a sympathy card and realized once done it qualifies for my challenge here, LOL.

Stamps and die are from the new CP Sursee Monthly Kit. I am finding it to be so handy and versatile.

Beautiful cards, Farley. I always love receiving cards from you and Cheryl because I know they're going to be special. :)

This isn't a card, but it does have some metal on it. I had one more picture of my mom that I didn't use on her recent scrapbook page so I made a little mixed media piece (don't worry, I didn't cut the original photo - it's a copy).

Would you believe I actually did a challenge? Don't faint, please. In cleaning up my craft space I found a Studio Calico kit I ordered and had evidently used for one layout then put the rest away in the zippered pouch. So I decided to kill it by making cards, and three of them have metallic words... I'm up to 8 cards total and about to call it killed for me. Three more cards and I think I'm done with it. The rest will either be scraps tossed out or card fronts that I'll pass along to a friend.

Anyway... the black metallic is a bear to show with the shine, but the other two are kind of coppery color.

Monica, great that you killed a kit and played along with the challenge. Your cards are wonderful!

Monica you killed two challenges in one fell sweep! Fabulous cards.

Is that black metallic from the Tim metallic collection? I love his papers. I have the brights and the gold/silver pad which is nearly gone. I think I need all of them, LOL. I love the touch of metallics on just about anything.

Thanks for playing.

I'm enjoying seeing all the different ways my friends are using metal this month. Some fabulous cards and I love the sweet little face on Sue's tag.

No, it's not Tim's black, although I have and LOVE all his metallic pads. It's from a metallics pad I bought from a craft store probably 2-3 years or so ago and stumbled on again recently when doing a reorg of my craft room. I now have a dedicated space for my Bigshot, die storage and the paper pads for diecutting that can also be moved to allow someone else to visit and have room to play.
