Mike was injured today when a deck collapsed

Glad that nothing is broken. Hope he continues to heal. Sometimes it takes something like that to remind us to slow down a bit.

Well.... he had good news and bad news at his appointment today. There's a broken bone in the heel.. on the upper side of whatever bone it is. So... that's out of this Ortho's wheelhouse and Mike will need to see a specialist... either in Va. Beach or in Greenville, NC... whichever one the Workers' Comp chooses. He'll have a CT scan done prior to that.

I swear... if it hadn't been for Organic Chemistry, I'd be a doctor, today.... oh well...

The good news is that the shoulder is doing really well... he can go without the sling.. just keeping it handy in case the shoulder gets achy. Physical therapy on that will start soon.

Good news about the shoulder, but I'm sorry he still has to deal with a broken heel bone. That sounds painful.

Yep.... at least now we know why he's still in a lot of pain and still can't put the foot down flat or put any weight on it... and he can stop feeling like he's supposed to try to do that. We have the appointment to go to Virginia Beach on Monday. So then we'll know how bad it is and whether he'll need surgery.

He definitely doesn't do anything the simple way... but it sure is good to know there was actually a break in there.

His appointment with the foot specialist is on Monday in Virginia Beach... and then we'll find out what the treatment and prognosis are.

So... update.... Mike gets a CT scan of his foot today and then will take that with him to see the foot specialist again tomorrow... then he'll find out if he needs surgery or if it's healing ok like it is... send good vibes... I think he'll lose his mind if he has to have surgery and have a cast on that thing... and start 6 - 8 weeks of recovery all over again...

He did manage to wheel himself into my office today before going to his CT scan... so he could bring me a lovely orchid plant. I'll have to find a perfect spot in my office for it to flourish!!
