2019 Ornament Swap!

Post by Monica »

In putting all the ornaments on my tree, I found several from PAO members and absent members from years past, and I thought it might be fun to do an ornament swap for next year. Anyone else interested in it? The main criteria would be that the finished product is handmade, whether it be alcohol inking glass balls, doing those stunning ornaments Cheryl M has done or any number of other ideas.

Okay, sounds like we're going forward with this! Yay! So, signups will remain open until at least the end of January, because I know how it is in the middle of the holiday craze and I'd love to have a many people as possible sign up to play.

Rules: You create one ornament per person on the list and mail them out no later than mid-November 2019. The finished product needs to be homemade, which could be you buying antique spoons and doing some creative embellishing (a la Rachelle), doing fancy paper ornaments like Cheryl Miller, glass ball alcohol inked or swirled with pigment powders, sew quilted ornaments or felt ones... as long as you made the end product we're good. Make them individual or do assembly-line. Whatever strikes your fancy.

***Please put your name on the ornament somewhere***

Glad you guys like the idea! I'm hoping perhaps we can get more people interested after the Christmas holidays die down. I was thinking a November deadline, to give people months to get things made and sent, but avoid the craze of holiday scramble.

My brain was working when Peggy and I hit the craft stores the day after Christmas. I used my 50% off coupons and bought the supplies to make some ornaments. Yay!!

I’ve been collecting ideas. No opportunity to do any shopping - yet.
