Speaking of CS...

anyone remember these:

They came in some Christmas kit and I'm still moving them around, not knowing what to do with them. I like the idea of paper casting and have done it but...

Their days are numbered so I made one smaller and just colored it today-after all these years. It looks better in the photo than it does in real life. For some reason I bought a few extra when they were on sale.

What did anyone else do with them?

I think I used one on a page and threw the rest in the trash - unless they went in a RAK pile back in the day.

It's been so long since I saw them that I don't remember what I did with them! Probably put them in a RAK.

Before my time also. I didn’t join until 2004. But I think yours looks great and would definitely make a nice card or stick it on a Christmas tree or wreath.

Ahhh... Evergreen! I loved the papers from it but ended up giving those paper molds to my nieces to put on cards a few years back.

I was thinking it might be Evergreen. That was within my CS timeframe, but I do not remember this item. I was getting JR kit at that time, so lacking all the goodies, unless I bought them later.

YES! I just looked and I still have one of those paper molds. Marianne, what did you use to color it? Markers? Paint?

Now I'm feeling a bit nostalgic so I just pulled out my old CS spreadsheet. My first kit was Fruit and Vine - September 2001, and my last was Lotus Pond - January 2011. While I was getting kits, I kept them together in large zip bags and kept a spreadsheet of what was included in each. At the time, it was easier for me to look at my spreadsheet and figure out what to use than to go thru the actual kits. I still keep my pile of CS paper (what I have left of it) separate from the rest because it is still "special" to me, but everything else has been put elsewhere.

Thanks, everyone! Evergreen was the only Christmas kit I could remember but wasn't sure when it was.
I think it only came with one and I got the others cheap somewhere or in one of your RAKS.

Sue, I used colored pencils. I tried watercolor on one leaf but water made it go kind of fuzzy. I scraped that off and let it dry and then used the pencil. Dry mediums would be better.

I think I'll just color the others, make cards and send them somewhere and stop overthinking it.

Ok, here they are, DONE!!!

After coloring with pencils, I painted iridescent medium on the sprigs and sprinkled with glitter.

Perfect! They turned out great. Not sure I would have thought of colored pencils. I would have been worried that pencils would have smooshed them down.

Thanks, those things were tough, Farley, and took a lot of abuse! Good quality soft pencils like Polychromos worked fine. I did grab a pencil with a hard lead and put that down. I think chalks would work well, too.
