Road tripping
Road tripping
DH and I are road tripping over to Utah to see the sights, down to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and then over to SoCal for nephew's graduation. Enjoying the mixed blessing of limited tech... aka no wifi on the road... and having fun just the two of us. You all enjoy the holiday weekend and be safe!

so... I learned something about just going where the road takes you on a holiday weekend. It's impossible to find a hotel when you want to stop for the night. And as a result of trying to find one we went the wrong direction away from the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and discovered this morning that the south end is on tribal land and they charge almost $50 per person to shuttle you to the canyon rim. So that was a bust... but pretty cool country. Zion National Park is an absolute must for anyone though. And I recommend the Hoover dam, although we were glad we got there shortly after 8am, as when we left an hour later cars were backed up over 2 miles to get there. It's got some gorgeous Art Deco pieces.
Having fun though, and tomorrow will be at sister's. The next two days will be Mom and I at Disneyland, with DH doing his own thing involving glider planes as I recall, and then Thursday night nephew graduates HS and we head back home Saturday morning through the Redwood forest and along the Oregon coast.

have fun
I was so impressed with the Hoover Dam when I was there
My dd was in Vegas in Air Force
I visited my brother in Phoenix also
My brother took me to the painted desert closer to AZ than NV

You are traveling through so many gorgeous places that I have visited with the exception of Zion. Safe travels and have a great time everywhere on your adventure.

Home again! Doing laundry, sifting through mail, making the grocery list and dreading the chaos that will be tomorrow at work. I'll post pictures at some point....
