Cars in Kansas

A busy page, but I really wanted to use several of these Cartopia papers. I combined words from two different phrases for my title, embossing the second word in gold as the colour didn't work. Free Scrapbook Generations sketch from NSD 2016. With this layout I now have all 8 states that Route 66 passes through represented in my album; surprisingly, although there's just 13 miles of the route in Kansas there are several items of interest and I'll likely end up with as many pages as for Texas.

I hear this every time you post LOs from your trip! I was showing them to my husband, and he decided we need to drive part of the route.

Great layout and the Cartopia collection couldn’t be more perfect. I really liked how you modified the one word. I need to remember that idea.

I hadn't listened to that in awhile Pam P, thanks for posting the link. A classic for sure, although I'm partial to Asleep at the Wheel's version. I think a Route 66 trip - in whole or in part - is an excellent idea!
Pam C, I don't know if it's really necessary, but when I emboss the coloured chipboard Thickers I lightly sand them first to give them some tooth for the powder to stick to.

I had thought about peeling off the top layer but sanding would be easier for sure. Thanks for that tip.

The rounded corners on the papers are perfect to go with all those fenders! As are all the little details/embellishments!
