This time it was the ACL in the left knee. Surgery went well. She's more awake tonight than Mike said she was the other time. She's feeling the pain more. He's sleeping with her the rest of tonight. I took the spare bed. Hope she's better in the morning. I'll keep you posted.

Poor little girl! I hate when they're in pain. You are both such good parents!

She came through surgery ok but is suffering a bit more than she did last time. I spent the day keeping her in the bed. Hopefully she'll feel a bit better tomorrow.

Took her back to the vet this morning. Concerned about the swelling and whining. Got some more meds and right now she's sleeping. Whew!!

I'm back at work today... hooray!!! Chevie had a pretty normal day yesterday... she's eating/drinking/pottying normally, now... so mommy can relax a little. We all had a decent night's sleep last night, too.

She still has this weird edema... but it's not getting any worse... so hopefully her body is figuring out how to deal with it, now.

Maybe from inactivity? I'm so glad to hear she's doing better. Our babies are special children. :)

So... she decided to start licking the incision Tuesday night.... drove us bonkers because then she got it started bleeding. Kept licking every chance she got... so I stopped at the vet's office on Wednesday and got her a cone of shame. Of course, yesterday, she stayed up on the couch and never budged and didn't lick it... but... it wouldn't stop bleeding... not a lot... but a constant drip unless we held pressure and cold packs on it. As soon as she'd move - to go outside, or even just get up off the couch - the bleeding would start again. Mike had "sleep" duty last night... holding pressure on the leg and making sure Chevie didn't budge all night. No sleep for him. So this morning we took her back up to the vet's office. He was stumped as to why she's still bleeding. But.... put some additional staples in... another 10 or so. I then came back up here to work the rest of the day (good thing I still had some comp time on the books) so hopefully she's been wearing her cone and leaving the new staples alone. I'll find out when I get home. Crazy dog is going to drive us bonkers!!

She may have a clotting issue going on with all of the meds and the stress. My Golden cut his paw once and he had a clotting issue - vet said it was an immune-dificiency problem. Poor little girl has had enough for her lifetime. :happy94: for Chevie.

We've had to resort to putting the cone-of-shame on her periodically. She keeps wanting to lick the incision this time around. Sometimes she sits perfectly still with the cone on... and other times she just thrashes it around. We're getting pretty worn out, but hopefully this thing will heal up soon and then we can get the stupid staples out and she'll feel better.
