Pocket Journals

So I took an online class by Rae Missigman & Sandi Keene

Was it worth the money? ehhh but did it get me creating, it did so I guess it was worth it.

I have made 5 of these with varying degrees of thickness over the last week & half.

The first one was my first with 2 signatures and lots of fun papers to work on.
It measures 4.5x5.5" but is super chunky.
Really easy to put together and fun.

and then this one which measures 3.5x3.5"
has a painted canvas cover and just 1 signature made using a single piece of sb paper (didn't even make a dent in my stash-go figure)

Oh, I love those, Christy. Junk journals are my favorite. I think the larger one is just what Keitha and I need for our "sketch" books of found papers. We debate the merits of all sorts of fancy/cheap/trendy/arty journals for sketching and painting when all we really need are a pencil, a flat surface and commitment. And if it uses up some of the scraps we have that's a bonus!

I do love them and I love seeing your creations again!
Nothing like a class to get those creative juices flowing again!

Wowser! Definitely it was worth it seeing you creating again. And what fabulous creations they are. I’m not sure how I would use one but I LOVE looking at them. I think just having one around to look at is a huge inspiration for more creativity. Way to go!

Terrific job on both but the smaller one is my favorite.

These look great Christy! What will you use them for? That's always my conundrum when I put a journal together, although I've decided that lack of a purpose for it won't stop me from making them in future.

The 1st one I am using as a quick AJ. Everyday I am trying to just do one page. Since most of the pages are ATC size or smaller I am figuring this is a quick way to just create.

The other was a prototype for several teacher thank you gifts for the ones who wrote Maya recommendation letters.
I gave this one away and now am making more as the actual gifts but tailoring each to the recipient.

I love that you're using them right away. Great uses for both of them!

One more

This is a Thank You gift for Maya's French teacher. She wrote a phenomenal recommendation, and is an full out supporter of M.

The inside pages were colored with acrylic ink and water. Still easy enough to write on.
