So... I'm ready for tomorrow....

glasses - check
t-shirt - check
pinhole viewer - check

downloaded a cool image of the state of NC and then used the Silhouette to cut the inside pieces and glued those on... and tomorrow I'll put my pinhole in it and hope I can view it through there... onto a big white posterboard .... pic of my viewer is attached :-)

here's the link for the info... https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/2d3d-print ... projectors

I also bought this adorable cut file (and a few more from this Etsy store) to use on my layouts.... Image ..... actually - they're digital clipart images... grrrrr.... so I guess I'll print and fussy cut them and use them anyway cuz they're just darn cute!! (I'm currently trying to trace the parts by color in the Silhouette software... we'll see how this works)

and I swear, if it's rainy and cloudy, I'll have Mike take photos of me in my t-shirt and glasses - pouting LOL

I have my eclipse glasses and haven't thought about what to wear yet. Something bright? I'm taking a late lunch so I can sit outside and enjoy it. I plan to print a photo from online. Most of my pictures will be of what's happening around me, I think. My dad & brother are in "the zone" but too many factors keeping me from driving over.
Looking forward to seeing pictures from everyone!

Debi your "eclipse" is so clever. Looking forward to seeing your LOs.

I happen to live very close to Interstate 5. The steady flow of traffic going north up to Oregon has been insane for the last few days. I have several friends that are up there. One of them took a special class in how to photograph the eclipse.

Our maximum eclipse (not 100%) will occur at 10:17. I will be inside leading my book club. But I think we will have to make a brief pause and at least observe the light changing.

You'll definitely need to go out and check out the lighting change... also... keep an eye on what the birds do... animals will react differently to the mid-day darkness... could be interesting!

You are really prepared, Debi. I hope it is perfect viewing for you. I'm going to try the tub of water method out in the yard. We have so many trees that it's not going to be a blinding experience.

Ray drove from VA to home last night in the evening. He said the traffic going South was unusually heavy, probably headed to the Carolinas for a good view.

I have my eclipse glasses and a filter for my camera.... but with the shoulder issue I'm dealing with at the moment not sure how much I'll be doing.

We bought a pack of glasses early, and from a reputable source. Lots of recalls around here lately, but ours are still apparently good. Rob also bought some kind of film that he glued to filter for our DSLR lenses, that's supposed to allow him to photograph the whole thing. He and I are both taking off work - don't want to deal with the traffic craziness. We've got well over a minute of totality at our house, so we're just going to enjoy the scene from the deck. :-)

Kids are both going to school. Both of their schools are having a viewing event. I can't even imagine how they're going to handle this at the elementary level, especially with the younger kids. Jake (5th grade) will be fine. We've been drilling safety into him for weeks now.

I hope everyone who is in the path has an enjoyable viewing experience! And stay safe everyone!

We went up to the fire station and watched it (got to take breaks in the A/C.. whew) .... got a few photos of my own to scrap... and I'm sure I'll get some from online...

we were at about 88% so it never got totally dark... there was always some of the sun showing...

Love the photo of you and Mike, Debi.

It was normal darkness for a cloudy day in the woods here. Of course, 30 minutes later the sun was shining.

Was there an even larger crowd than normal at the OBX on an August day?

From where I stood, it just looked like one of our smoky hazy days. I did get some cool iPhone photos with the eclipse reflected on my face.
