So... that was the end of our first night there...

The next morning Chloe and I had a Keys to the Kingdom tour of Magic Kingdom, which started at 9 and required us to be there before the park actually opened. There's something magical about entering the par while everyone else waits outside. ;) Our Magic bands were scanned to verify our tour before they let us in.

Showing off Main Street and the start of our tour. We each had a earpiece and receiver to allow us to hear our tour guide Claudia without her shouting or disrupting the other visitors.

It's interesting to read about these magic bands that apparently hold the keys to all the Kingdom. Very high tech since we were there! Are they like a Fast Pass plus other stuff so you don't wait?

Hotel key, Fast pass, used to purchase meals and sundries, Photopass if you buy that plan... it allowed me to avoid carrying a wallet or purse around all the time.

That's convenient-as long as the system doesn't go down!

Such fun pages! I know you had a great time.

Marianne - I first learned about magic bands from one of my clients. It was the only part of the planning she agonized over - making sure those bands were the right colors for each of her family members. Since then, every time I've booked a trip for a client, I get that detail out of the way first! If I know more about the interests of the children, I'll order the decorative buttons for their bracelets as a small gift. That corporation is a marketing genius.

Yay! Disney layouts! I love them all! Looks like we need to get back to Hollywood Studios during our next trip. Last time we were there, it was just Lightning and Mater. The kids would get a kick out of getting their photo with more cars. When Rob and I were in Orlando last weekend, we skipped that park due to the construction. But we're going back with the kids over Christmas, so maybe we'll put it back on the list to visit.

The cars were all at Art of Animation resort, not Hollywood Studios. Have you ever done one of the tours, seen behind the scenes? I want to go back and do another one. And one at Disneyland next time I'm there!

Ah! That explains why we've never seen them then! I've never been to AoA, and had no idea those were up there. Might need to add them to our list of resorts to visit when we're there over Christmas. :-D

We did the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour a couple of years ago when Rob and I went without the kids. It was interesting, but less interesting than I'd hoped. We got to go through the utilidores, and walk through the garage where a bunch of float vehicles were stored. But I know there's so much more going on behind the scenes than what we saw.

I want to do one of the safaris out of Animal Kingdom Lodge, but those are too pricey for all 4 of us to do, unless we went for a week without buying park tickets.

so... I realized when I decided to upload my pages for today that I have been woefully behind at uploading the other pages... :tomato: Considering that I'm on album #2, I really am behind! So, here is the rest to catch up.
