This LO took me the entire day to settle on this. It had two other versions before I settled on this collection of papers. I knew I wanted to use this photo of my granddaughter on her three and a "half" birthday party. Vanessa's birthday is in December so her mom held a party in June. She is the little princess and I love this big grin on her sweet face. I really need help in scrapping. This was a huge challenge for me.

It's hard to see but the cake has a big owl on it. (Hence the 3 owls I stamped out). When asked what part of the cake she wanted Vanessa instructed her mom to cut out the entire owl for her. It was quite funny.

It takes me forever and a day to decide on what to use for a LO, so you're not alone in that respect. I believe that we tend to overthink what we're doing and that's what makes it difficult. My fastest (and favorite) pages are the ones where I picked up a handful of scraps and just nudged them around until I liked the composition.

That is really cute with the owl embellies, Farley. I also like the way the photo is on the phone held by the phantom hand. In years to come, it will be interesting for Vanessa to see the technology of the day.

I used to agonize but Shimelle has a rule that you have to use the first thing you run across that works. Considering I love most of her layouts, I decided to live by that rule (and you know how I elderly about rules). So far, so good.

Cute layout, and I too noticed and love the cell phone taking a photo. It will definitely be interesting to look back on photos like that many years from now to see how technology has changed.

I agonize over layouts all the time, and that's usually with a sketch in hand! But like Pam P, it usually turns out that the ones that are just kind of thrown together tend to be my favorites when I look back. Go figure.

The fun thing about the cell phone is I know that is her dad recording us singing happy birthday to her. I guess I should make a few notes about that on the LO. Journaling is my other bugaboo.

PamC in spite of my agonizing over one little LO this was a great way to challenge us/me. I might actually do this again.
