Stamping tip

Pinterest sent a link to a tip. The woman uses lip "blahm" (balm) to stick her unmounted rubber stamps to the acrylic block. It appears to really work! She demo'ed with Burt's Bees but said any lip balm like Chapstick will work. Amazing.

Well isn't that interesting! Hopefully it's a reasonably clean way to do it. I once used a 3M repositionable (not a word apparently, LOL) glue stick that worked well but really made stamps and acrylic blocks gooey. I got tired of the clean up and started doing the cling mount way.

It's so much easier and a lot less mess to just use the cling mount, plus it gives you a bit of cushioning for your stamp.

She said it easily cleaned up with soap & water and uses hand sanitizer (I hate that stuff!).
Can't believe I found the link again!

Hand sanitizer is loaded with alcohol. Won't that dry out your stamps?

That's a great tip, especially for the SU "clear mount" because the stickers are helpful for seeing what you are stamping but they do not stick to your blocks. I don't use them anymore, but good to know this for the ones I already have stickers on!

Now, do you think it works the same on plain red rubber?

I would guess so Nancy. Worth a try for sure.

Pam - I don't use the crap. I certainly wouldn't use it on my stamps. (My point is I agree with you about alcohol being a risky cleaner.) Just wanted to pass along information. I use dish & hand soaps and baby wipes when I have them. So far so good - but - I almost never use my stamps so don't listen to me!
