I wanted to see if I could clean up some of mine so was searching for info.

I was watching a Jennifer McGuire video the other day and she said that the better the quality of a photopolymer stamp, the more likely it was to stain with your inks... and to not worry about it.

Oh good, now I won't feel so guilty. (As if I did!) I just wipe mine with a damp towel and call it good. I've never had any transfer of ink problems from that.

I thought I might clean my stamps - someday. I usually use baby wipes or take a whole bunch to the sink and wash them with hand soap.

I usually do that too.... the ol' baby wipes or hand wipes process.

I am awful, I never clean my stamps. Doesn't seem to bother them either.

I just couldn't get mine to stick to a block but the stamp sides were sticky so they wouldn't stamp. I thought maybe they had been ruined by using permanent ink on them but not according that article. They just needed a good cleaning...

It always amazes me how washing them makes them stick on the acrylic blocks again. Go figure.

Washing them removes the oil from your hands, which tends to build up over time. Even if we do clean our stamps after every use, we only clean the inked side.

Not to mention all the glitter, embossing powder and dust that gets on them.

I have a stamp shammy. I know they are pricey, but they work like a charm! I can't stand for mine to be sticky after I use versamark.

I have a stamp shammy that I haven't used yet. Judy, do you use any cleaner or water or anything with it? While I like the brush pad for cleaning rubber stamps I don't love it for polymer ones, this might be the better option.
