I can't get into the Off Topic Section :-(

I get a general error from both my home and work computers. It looks like other people are posting in it, so it must just be me. Any suggestions on what I might try - changing settings, etc - so that I can get in? Thanks!

I would clear your history, log out, re-boot your computer, then log back in.

I cleared the history and logged out of the site on the work computer. I can't reboot right now, because I'm burning some CD's but I'll try that later, or on the home computer.

Maybe the board just wants YOU to stay on topic. Does it know something we don't?

OK, I'm at home now. Cleared all my history and rebooted. Still can't see the Off Topic section. On a whim, I logged out from the forum, and can go into the Off Topic section that way. So, to my pretty non-tech mind, it sounds like there is some problem with my account? Help!!!!

What browser are you using and is it Windows XP or Vista or a Mac?

Vista and IE7. I know, I know, IE sucks, but most of the the online access to the databases I use for work only work with IE, so I just stick with it.

I'll download Firefox and see if that makes any difference.

OK, downloaded and installed Firefox. Logged out of the site, shut the computer down, restarted, and logged in using Firefox. Still get the error.

I finally remember to cut and paste the error:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Got error 134 from storage engine [1030]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

Michelle, remember when we were down for 8 hours early in December? That was the sort of error we were getting at the start. I'm concerned we might be going down that path again.

I changed my signature, and now I can get in to the off topic section. I have no idea if the two are related, but whatever!
