September 2016 Card Challenge - What Will You Do With One?

There's nothing new in the idea of using paint swatches for cards. But I really haven't played with the idea so I picked up a bunch of paint swatch cards yesterday. I'll make more samples but I wanted to get this challenge up and going PDQ.

Now if paint swatches aren't available to you make your own with your paper scraps or ink pads. I'll be looking forward to how you use your swatches...manufactured either by a paint company or by you.

Have fun with this...

I think I need to run by Lowe's today. Farley, your example is gorgeous.

I pick them up from time to time and never use them. Your card is gorgeous! Will have to give this a try.

I got some a couple of weeks ago, now I'm wondering where I put them! Hope to play along.

I love the way you reversed the one wavy section of the paint chips and diecut out of the same colors. Very clever, Farley!
There are still paint chips in with my scraps at home...next month!

We get out of work early today... so one of my stops on the way home will be Ace Hardware so I can pick up some paint swatches.... fun card idea for sure and I may make something work on a layout... something with some nice rust/orange/brown colors in the ol' Arizona scrapbook.

I'm getting a 2-for since I decided after the first one that I could make Christmas Cards for Cheryl's Challenge too.

First one I used wildflower diecuts over the paint chip and an on the edge swirl die underneath

Second I ran the paint chip through with a snowflake EF and then sanded. Added a pine tree diecut

Third I put some holly and swirl diecuts on top of the paint chip.

These are terrific Rachelle! I thought of embossing some but I wouldn't have thought of then sanding it! Brilliant. Love the wintery icy look of these too.

Nice way to use the paint chips, Rachelle. The first one is really effective.
