My girlfriend that lives in Pagosa Springs, Colorado contacted me yesterday and she has arranged a hot air balloon ride as an early birthday gift! She knows I have always wanted to do this but Rod's a big party pooper and never wants to go or watch so he's coming camping and fishing this week coming and I'm driving to Pagosa Springs. They have a large hot springs there in the city as well. GIRL TIME!!!!!

Keitha, what suggestions can you give me?

Debbie, what a great gift! I'm sure you'll love it. Wear comfortable cotton clothing, long pants are recommended in case you land in some really tall brush/scrub. Sturdy shoes - hiking or running shoes are best. If the area is buggy you'll want insect repellent, especially if it's an evening flight. I don't need to tell you to take lots of photos - can't wait to see them! It looks like a very pretty area to fly in.

OK, I will make sure to pack all those items you suggested. I can't wait!

I'd never be able to go up in one, but if I did, I'd be the one hanging onto the waistband of your pants to keep you from falling, just ask my boys about that. I'd hang onto their waistbands in high buildings...looking out the window. LOL I have a fear of heights! I freaked out looking at pictures of my sons on that lookout platform in the Willis Tower in Chicago.

My Dad used to belong to a group of men that flew hot air balloons. He was usually the guy on the ground, tracking the balloon. He traveled around the country with these guys, having a wonderful time.
