My friend in Seattle just got back from a trip birding around Chelan, WA. She posted her photos and said it was alright for me to share the link. After recent talk about trips around WA and all the layouts Pam is doing, I thought you all especially the birders might enjoy seeing some photos of another area.

Great photos - thanks for posting them, and also thanks to Lydia for taking them! I even learned a thing or two.

They are wonderful. So very many beautiful birds in this country.

Lovely photos... thanks for sharing. I envy her the photos of the meadowlarks... I keep seeing an Eastern Meadowlark on my way to work - through that Pea Island area.... I've seen it (them) this time of year for the past several years but either can't pull off the road because someone's tailgating... or... if I drive past and then turn around, it has flown away. I think I'm just going to snag a photo off the internet and scrapbook the story, anyway. Maybe someday I'll get my own.

She had a terrific birding trip, though...

Thanks Marianne for the link. What a great trip she took and lovely photos, all of them. That photo of the road running through the two grain silos is hilarious.
