OMG Marianne!!!

Your quilt is just jaw-dropping-amazing. I want to look at each and every square. Of course my eye immediately zeroed in on the Robin...reminds me of that wonderful OCAM you made me a few years ago. Has your Robin seen this? You should be showing this somewhere. If you did, you'd win 1st place for sure. You are so talented and artistic.

Added:

I am in wonder at how you decided so beautifully the arrangement of each square. When I look at it, I can see that no one square dominates the quilt. It just flows from one to the next so well.

I have to second Farley's comment about the arrangement of the squares; it works so well. And knowing that you stitched a couple rows together at a time and didn't wait for them all to be done to decide on the arrangement, speaks to what a wonderful job you did throughout choosing fabrics that would balance well together overall.

This is one stinkin' fabulous quilt!

That would be fun, Debi, I would love to do that. Thanks!

Thank you, everyone!

A few of you have mentioned the distribution of the colors, etc. I have a felt design wall on the only wall in my craft area. It's the width of a roll of felt, 54 or 60". If I wasn't a quilter, that wall would have been covered by an Expedit!

I put the blocks up there as I did them. After I had about 4 rows worth of blocks I started to put the rows together and quilt, 2 rows at a time. I would keep at least two rows up so I could look at what fabrics I had used and what needed to be repeated. The quilted rows were nearby on a guest room bed so I could refer to those, too. In person there are a few blocks that really stand out and others mainly the embroidered blocks that look very light. Overall it worked out ok. I didn't know how else to do it to distribute all the colors and fabrics.

Now I really hope to play with some paper!

Thanks, Julie and Jill.

Julie, Like Pat, I also did a sort of quilt as you go but with several blocks at a time. Once I had a few rows finished, I'd join them in 5 x 2 or 4 x 2 sections so it was easier to handle.
