February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
Re: February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
very pretty, Farley and Monica.
I'd like to try coloring the leaves while they are still in the diecut shape. That made it look so much easier than if the leaves were loose.

Re: February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
I did my coloring yesterday - using die cuts and kind of a tunnel card like Kathy's but not so thick or layered. That was too much!
I'm not going to post it since I'm sending it off as my OCAM for February

Re: February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
Day 2: Finished the postcard. The bee wings and center of the sunflower are touched with clear Wink of Stella, which blotched a bit here and there to give it additional sparkle. The blue background was created using a couple different jars of Twinkling H2Os, partly a dry wash and partly a wet wash just to see how it would look. The photos don't quite capture the sparkle it has IRL.
Close-ups:
My NZ writing partner, who is also doing this challenge, decided that we should color a page together, so she picked one from Enchanted forest for us to work on each day. Started mine, since she started hers, so this is day 2.5, I guess. You can't tell in the photo, but I used the same Wink of Stella on the blue flower.

Monica I think your background looks great as well as your flower and bees. Your next page looks fun too...a lot more detail to work with!
I did just a little on my page this morning and started a new card that has no relationship to what Kathy posted today. Coloring is coloring, right?

Thanks, Farley! And yes, coloring is coloring, at least in my book. Even if it's only ten minutes a day, it's all in art of what you're doing. The postcard was a good size to get me going again. I'll have a bit harder time with the larger page getting consistent shading, because there's so much more going on, but the fun is in the doing. I may end up hauling out the Crayolas and giving them a whirl too. I still have coloring books from my childhood as well as a bunch of Precious Moments ones from the mid to late 90s. Unlike a lot of other people, I never gave up coloring. That's what got me into papercrafting to begin with. Stamping my own stuff to color!

Re: February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
Finally finished what I started last night. I used 2 old flourishes from CS Bandanarama. Loved that kit. The flourishes are colored with Copic. The cup started out that way but the base color has dried up so I finished it off with Distress Ink to try and cover up the mess.

The way you have colored this, Farley, looks very Peter Max. Which I love.

Thanks! I was a little worried that it vaguely looked like Dream in Color. Hahahahaha.

Re: February 2016 - 30 Day Color Challenge
I have a new batch of stamps from Crafter's Companion that are perfect for the 30 day challenge. Copics were used and a tiny bit of gel pen here and there. I will add a sentiment when needed and perhaps some stickles are in order on the butterfly and/or blossoms.

That's beautiful, Farley. Love the stamp, and the way you have shaded the fabric of her dress.
