2016 January Card Sketch Challenge - Monochromatics

Post by paddlegal »

Happy New Year! I've been stewing on this idea for a few weeks wondering how this would go over. It's not a card sketch but rather a challenge to work with your favorite color range. I've been looking and pinning ombré and monochromatic cards like crazy. So here's the deal: make a card any way you choose with stamps, patterned papers, paints, washi tapes, gelatos, chalks...whatever you desire. But first choose a color and explore all its hues and values and see what you come up with. Other than a color way to work with, no rules here. Have fun!

I had fun fooling around with these two cards and their different looks.

Oh, the grey card is a good masculine one. Fun challenge, it's nice to have variety.

Thanks all!

Marianne that was my hope...to make a masculine card. I rarely do.

played with my new Color Bursts the other day, finally had time to make some cards out of some of the pieces! I made this one with the Monochromatic challenge in mind.

Yes Nancy!!! Fabulous card! Those color bursts are so rich and intense. I love how you can verify variations just using one color. Thanks for playing. Is the white design an embossed stamp?

Yes, I think it's a JudiKins background stamp embossed in white.
