Love those colors and you've inspired me to give another technique a try. If only the sunshine wasn't calling my name right now...

This looks like fun, doesn't it?

Yes, Kool Aid for all of them except the turquoise is Rit Dye. The Kool Aid disperses better than the Rit but the Rit is supposed to separate into different colors as you spray it.

I would say Bister is probably better but this was my attempt to try something closer to hand.

Rachelle, Tape your watercolor paper down so it doesn't curl. Spray with a mist of water, sprinkle on the Kool Aid powder or Rit dye powder. Less is more for all of this or you will get mud. Spray with more water to move the colors around. Soak up excess with a tissue or paper towel.

Does the powder dissolve or whisk away?

The Kool Aid dissolves very easily. The Rit sometimes needs to be pressed into the water a bit. It brushes away when dry if it hasn't dissolved. The Kool Aid works better. I bought 4 packs and unfortunately two were very similar in color-Cherry and Tropical Punch. The grape looks grey when wet but dries to a purplish color. They do have an awfully sweet smell that I could live without.

Rachelle, I'm so glad you posted these photos to see how fabulous your cards turned out. Great colors to use and the collage of images are terrific.

Marianne, I would never have thought of Kool Aid! The backgrounds are sensational and your stamped images are gorgeous!

Thank you so much for playing along.
