April Challenge! (use your scraps)
Re: April Challenge!
Last Spring we visited Marianne's friend Jean on our way back from the Outer Banks, and Yes, that is a photo of Jean's Welcome doormat! The scraps are from CS Be Still, Rhapsody and the leaves are cut from a small piece of one of the very first papers I bought, way way back!

Re: April Challenge!
Oh, that's funny about the Welcome mat, Jean would be amused. You made it all look really nice and I think it was raining most of the time, wasn't it?
Re: April Challenge!
This is a lousy scan - so much is not showing up. There are snowflakes scattered here and there, and a grey border all around the page.
One thing I've found from doing this - I have waaaaayyy too many scraps.

Re: April Challenge!
This challenge is for me, I love scraps but I don't have any photos printed for these scraps. It's all my blue and green with black and brown paper selvage strips.

Pam! I love it! So impressed you cut the hexagons. Maddie is just gorgeous.
Marianne - I love those paper strips. I thought about throwing my scraps in the recycle bin. I still might at the end of the month. Maybe we should bring our scrap stash to the beach and challenge ourselves to see how many of them we can use?

Re: April Challenge!
Thanks, Pam, but that sounds like hard work, my scraps fill a rolling tote, how about we all have a fire one evening at our own homes and consign them. National Scrapbooking Day is May 2, 2015. We could all take photos and scrap them.Of course, I would have to keep some over a certain size.....pamcook wrote:Pam! I love it! So impressed you cut the hexagons. Maddie is just gorgeous.

Re: April Challenge!
I didn't - I dug out an old CM template that was part of their cutting system aeons ago. First time I've ever used it.pamcook wrote:Pam! I love it! So impressed you cut the hexagons.
I should say that the LO was inspired by a FB post by Laurie. When I saw it I knew it would be perfect for a "scraps" LO.
Re: April Challenge!
Well, I'm glad to hear you're using a previously unused tool!
Shimelle talked about how people think of their off-cuts/scraps as supplies to use for less-than photos - not our best photos. I have to admit it, I must have been one of those people. For this one, I forced myself to go to my scraps first and I'm glad I did! This is our niece, sister to the one who's getting married in May. Two weddings in two months for those parents.

Re: April Challenge!
That is really pretty, Pam. I am really surprised to hear that about scraps, I can't imagine why anyone would think that. Do other people feel that way?
Re: April Challenge!
I don't. Unfortunately, for me it's "out of sight, out of mind." I have a few more LOs in mind that should help whittle them down, tho.
Re: April Challenge!
Here's another. Yes, save the date #3 for us this year. This is the son of my former sister-in-law. She was only 5 when I met her. We stay in touch but not enough to save me from the shock of hearing her son is old enough to get married!
I have many 4 - 6 inch wide strips in my stash. I'm finding them very useful!
