The other day I got a birthday discount from Club Scrap-after all these years. I had a look and saw a few things I liked but didn't think I would bother ordering. Then today, I got the email about the Feb. kit-London Calling. So I've ordered some of the prints and embellies, maybe I should have waited until the other kits come out later in the month. Guess we need to plan a trip to London now so I can use the new journal I'll make out of these papers.

I saw that paper and knew it would be perfect for some of Mike's photos from his Europe trip (back when he was 18)... but.... thankfully, I've finished his 2 huge scrapbooks from that trip.... so I saved myself some more money!! I haven't caved in and bought anything since I stopped my subscription. And... I had to do that after having the house flood a second time and losing more paper.... seems I don't have enough places that are up high enough to hoard paper.... so.... had to stop spending (insert way too much $$$) every month on paper I wasn't using soon enough. I had lots of kits saved for the Arizona scrapbooks... not sure what I still have... will have to rethink some of those ideas. But... it was just too heart-wrenching to keep worrying about paper getting wet and ruined. Maybe I'll re-subscribe someday.

I don't think I've bought much of anything since I quit whenever it was. I've been very good!

It's not just the paper but having the space to keep your finished albums up high, too. You need a house up on pilings or a garage underneath. I can understand your situation. Growing up at the Jersey Shore, the room behind my Mom's beauty shop was all the basement we had, our washer, dryer and freezer were on 2' high platforms and any storage shelves were suspended from the ceiling. Our living space was on the second floor.

The finished albums definitely get the "up high" locations in the house.... or they go with me if I go somewhere... and yes... that can fill up my Explorer just with albums... but then I've stressed way too much about the amount of $$$ that just got thrown away after these two storms...

At least I'm not worrying about rubber stamps anymore.... they're 99% unmounted and on page protectors in binders... they're up on their own shelves, now, too... and I just don't buy many at all anymore. The Stampin' Up demonstrator I was buying from hasn't done a party in months and months... so I haven't felt compelled to buy from her, either... and as I look around my scrapbook room, I know I'll never have enough time to use every stamp I currently own... LOL

Maybe that'll be a new goal.... take down one binder and use something off each page of stamps... I'll let ya'll know how that goes.. hahah

Sounds like one of my goals.

The Lake kit has been singing a siren song to me, but mostly because I think Bonnie needs it. Other than that, I've resisted because it all feels recycled to me with very few exceptions.

There's nothing new, old ideas recycled into something else...that looks like the old, well, you get it.

I see CS recruited a new design team. I wonder how much impact they will have, or just show how to use the product.

I could certainly use a stamp challenge too; which would be a challenge because I don't make cards so would have to find a way to use them on layouts and other things. I can just imagine the bafflement now of all those as-yet pristine stamps wondering why the heck they're getting all dirtied up now, LOL.

Pam Cook posted a challenge several months ago to use a set of stamps to make your background. Some gorgeous LOs came out of it and made you look at your stamps in a totally different way.
