Haven't been very active (typical ) on this daily challenge but last night I got caught up coloring this fun page from a Valentine Harper coloring book. It's a nice size book...8x5 pages so not as overwhelming as the full-size books. Colored with Tombow markers. The colors are very vibrant and I've been using them over the Distress pens since so many have dried up or changed colors on me.

Thanks Nancy. I'm really happy with the Tombow dual tip markers. Both tips are great and I really prefer the Tombow's fine tip over the Distress fine tip. The brush tips are very similar. They seem to blend really well with the blender pen as well as water.

I hadn't used my Distress markers much but when I did recently I was disappointed that many were dry and the browns all look green. The older colors just don't seem to be stable. I've kept them capped tightly and always horizontal. Too bad.

In that case, I'm glad I didn't buy the Distress markers. They seem to have trouble with their products not lasting.

This is probably my last colored item for this challenge. This Hero Arts layered bird was fun to color with the Tombows and make it into a fantasy bird. All parts are from the same set. I'll add a sentiment at some point.

Gorgeous.
Are these Tombows something new you have gotten or the same Tombows of old?

New. Valentine/anniversary gift. I never had Tombow's before. My "first" markers were Marvys to match my ink pads. My Distress markers were IN distress so I've jumped ship and gone Tombow and really happy I did. They blend great with blender pen as well as water. I'm snuggled up with iPad now to watch some calligraphy lessons with Tombows.

The bird parts were all colored directly onto the stamp then stamped in glossy card stock.

Wow, that is really clear stamping coloring onto the stamps.
I guess I always thought Marvys and Tombows were the same brand. I've had a set of Marvy LePlumes since the beginning of time and they sure don't blend with water. They certainly have lasted though.

Thanks everyone.

Marianne, Tombow is one company and Marvy made by Uchida another. The colors came out so well because I stamped on glossy card stock. On other more absorbent stock the results are very different and not as satisfying unless you want a water color look in which case it's great.

Shades of Dee Greunig with the markers on glossy paper.

Everything old is new again.

Beautiful bird Farley!

Stamping on glossy really does give you a more vibrant clear image. I may have to dig out the glossy again, I've got a ton of it!

This is unrelated to anything but Deb's comment reminded me that yesterday I saw a bluebird! :cool5:

Gorgeous colors! I've been playing with my new stamp set using my Distress Ink pads. Layering the inks is making some gorgeous rich colors.

Debbie, we've had a flick of robins for a couple of weeks now. Marianne, a couple of weeks ago I watched a very territorial male bluebird defend his territory against a bird I couldn't identify. I tried so hard to get a photo but he wasn't having it! This guy however was hunting on my front porch. We scared the crap out of each other!

I can't remember if I posted this on PAO or not.
