Stamp Storage

Post by Sharonv »

Hi there

Here's an article about stamp organisation. Cataloguing your stamp collection.

Read this and thought I would pass it on to anyone that might be super organised, or have the time or inkling to get organised

Holy cow!
I'm still trying to teach myself to put things away when I'm finished - let alone catalog them. I'm impressed.

Most of my clear stamps are stored in the appropriate category in my scraprack - works for me!

I like the ScrapRack as well. I just got my second base for it. But I only have my large alphabet stamp sets stored there, such as the big honkin' ones from Technique Tuesday. I bow to anyone who can fit their collection in that space. Stamps are a weakness of mine. LOL!

I do something similar - but I number my CD cases. When I want a stamp, I just go to that CD case. The cases are in no particular topic order - but I can still find the stamp that I want by looking for the number. I keep them in a CD rack. If you get file folder labels, you can print two lines of info - one line fits on the edge of a regular size CD case and you can adhere stamps on both inside sections if you are using only Aileens. If you have your stamps "cling mounted" generally you can only put them on one side. You can get two labels for your CD's from each separate file folder label by cutting them lengthwise. The other good thing about the numbering is that they always go back into the same order.

Also, if you are putting CS's UM's away - a whole sheet will fit in one CD case.

I haven't moved to the WM's yet though. That's my next project.

I used to have my wood mounted stamps stored on shelves we built. Then we moved. I love seeing wood mounted stamps on shelves. One of my goals is to get stamp shelving in this new house. My clear and CS stamps are in notebooks with zip cases. And in drawers. And flat on shelves in a storage cube. Sigh. They just don't fit neatly into one thing...
