for a swap where you needed to use photos of your ancestors. I don't make many atcs anymore but this theme intrigued me.

gorgeous work Christy...I like the paint resist the best, but your DGM is very cool.

These are all REALLY cool! How did you do that third one? Julie S seemed to recognize the technique as paint resist, but I don't know what that is.

nope
not a paint resist it is acrylic paint dry brushed on canvas paper and then a gel medium transfer of the photot

you can get a similar look by applying vaseline in the areas where you want the paint to resist and less or no vaseline in the areas where you want more acrylic coverage...then brush acrylic paint over and wipe with paper towel....the vaseline will resist the paint in areas where it is slathered on.

Interesting. I've never tried a gel medium transfer. Something to put on "the list".
