December Daily album

Here's my version. Some of the pages are still incomplete.
For the album, I bought a Pioneer album, added some ribbon to the front and an acetate die cut for the title.

Ali Edwards used full size baseball card pages for her album - I used the smaller ones. Don't think I'll use them next year. Too much trouble for little effect (IMHO) The green envelope is a brief letter to my family about how different this Christmas would be with all of us living so far apart.

I put the album together back in October which gave me a reason to round up all my holiday papers and embellishments ahead of time.

I added some recipes for holiday treats we have every year, some of the Tim Tags and swaps from this holiday season. Some of the photos are from DD and eventually I'll add some photos from DS (a mom can only nag so often...). I added Christmas cards from both our mom's because they always add such sweet handwritten messages.

Some photos were enlarged to be the whole page and I embellished the photo. One page is a google map of the Islamabad airport. I prayed all day for peace in the region that day - Cara & Mia were flying out to Dubai to meet up with DSIL in Dubai. Mia (DGD) and I take photos of each other while we're talking on Skype - she thinks it's the funniest thing ever.

Last 2 pages. Again, the small pockets just didn't work out all that great for me. The last photo is blurry for some reason - it's not your eyes! I added our boarding pass receipts and a Nordstrom gift card since we did a bit of damage at that store the day after Christmas!
I'll make one of these next year - it will probably be very different but it was fun. The whole idea was for DDIL (in NY) and DD (in Australia) and I (in NC) to work on them long-distance with each other. DDIL was sick most of the time and I don't think did much of hers and DD ended up in Pakistan almost all month. Maybe next year.

I'll bet your photo is better. DH was in a hurry - kept saying we'd come back after dark (yeah, sure - I believe that) so I was shooting on the run!

Pam what a terrific album. So wonderful that you were able to spend time in NY with son & family. Wish your DD wasn't so far away from you. It really is difficult when families are miles apart.
