Just read this on an email
Tim Holtz suggested that if part of your stamp impression is consistently coming through too light in places etc pop it in the microwave for 4 seconds. Apparently worked for the lady that wrote this.
Another couple of tips I just read:
Couple of other things a coat of versamark is good for:
If you have clear stamps that won't take dye ink (like Distress Ink!) very
well, give it a coat of versamark first, then tap into your dye ink. You'll
get a better coverage with less work.
Use a coat of versamark under ink that stains really badly. Chalk ink seems
to stain the worst for me, this won't keep it from happening entirely - but
it sure does help!
Use a coat under acrylic paints or gesso & it won't dry out as fast!
Stamping Tip
Re: Stamping Tip
Good to know about the Distress Inks - I have a few stamps that all but refuse to take it.
Re: Stamping Tip
and if you want to emboss with the dye ink - load your stamp up with versamark first then the dye ink.
I hadn't heard the microwave idea - I know that if you have a bold image and parts don't stamp well you can go over the stamp lightly with sandpaper and it'll work better. It's scary at first, but it works.

Re: Stamping Tip
Wow - great ideas. I have a set of stamps that won't take any ink. I'll have to give this a try. Versamark is one of those items I use all the time.
