Recessed Window Card

Post by nancine »

I found this http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resou ... ssedwindow tutorial on SCS and thought it would be fun to make my BIL's retirement card following it.

I used Academy paper, Concrete Jungle stamp and Basic Grey designer paper.

Today was his last day - he just turned 49! 30 years as a union Iron Worker. I think he's going to stay home and be a house husband now

Very very cool! And adaptable to any size - love it love it love it!

Question - do you think the extra depth would cause trouble if you tried to send it through the mail? I'm guessing it might get a bit mushed if it went through a canceling machine, but you could request that it be hand canceled I suppose. I also wonder if the added thickness might cause it to require extra postage. Anyone know the answer? Most of my cards are mailed, rather than hand-delivered, so I was wondering how this one might work with postage.

Thanks for sharing the tutorial! I'm definitely going to try this one.

Julie,
I'm not sure if it got smooshed in the mail* - but didn't require extra postage. They can be 1/4" thick and it was under that.

*My sister & BIL aren't the best at letting me know these things lol
