Bon Voyage Card

Post by EDelValle »

My daughter is going to go on her
first real vacation in over 10 years,
she is going to cruise to Alaska from
Seattle, so I made a Bon Voyage card
for her. I used Jolee's Boutique stickers
for the front of the card, and a die cut
using a wavy line die

How exciting for your daughter!
It’s very sweet of you to make the card for her. She will love it. It’s so cute!

How fun for her! And what a great card to commemorate the event.

The cruise web site recommended that
folks bring a digital camera to use instead
of their phones, but to tell the truth all of
the Peru photos were taken with my son's phone
and they were nicely done and editable

Has your daughter taken her cruise yet? I loved cruising Alaska - good thing, as I've still got lots of photos to scrap!

I took my big camera to Africa in January, and was very glad to have the long zoom for photographing animals in the distance. A couple of my friends only had iPhones, and while their photos are excellent quality, they had no hope of getting anything decent that was so far away. However I opted to leave my camera at home when I went on my Caribbean cruise in March, and didn't regret only having my phone with me. It's a new Android phone and takes excellent photos; I never once missed my big camera, and was glad not to lug it around or have to worry about keeping it safe. I think the only reason these days to take a digital camera is if it's got features a phone camera doesn't, like that long zoom. In fact in low light situations, underwater on submarine excursions, for example, I think the phone takes better photos. I also make the exception for birding photos; I get much better results with the big camera - long zoom and fast shutter speed.

Keitha,
Angela did the Alaska cruise, it was a a 7 day cruise
and she loved Alaska. She's already talking about goin back
but not on a cruise, the time in each port for this cruise was
much too short and their July 4th Glazier side trip was cancelled
by the company conducting the tour that morning because of the
4th of July parade in Juneau. So she'll probably fly into Alaska and
create her own itinerary to spend whatever time she wants at each
location. She has some nice photos with her I phone and as soon
as she finishes sending them to me, I'll get a bunch printed to be
scrapped instead of me printing them on my printer. It's cheaper to
send that many out to be printed.
