Oh My Gosh She's Alive!

Post by pbp908 »

Yep, life has tried but failed to end me just yet! It's a long list of things, but I'm on the mend and hopefully the long period of being idle and useless is coming to an end.

I actually finished a layout that's been hanging around on my table for longer than I want to acknowledge. It was a piece that I was working on for one of Pam C's challenges, and it ended up being changed more times than some people's socks. The butterflies are part of the mixed media portion - I decided to try a technique that I found on Pinterest that involves photo paper and Distress Oxide inks. The butterflies are cut from one of the pieces, although I didn't cut them in such a way all of the ink colors showed. The other mixed media was covering up a huge boo boo at the lower right of the page. Gesso, ink splats and a bit of gold splatters fixed my mess. The "black" parantheses sort of things are really gold. I keep forgetting that the scanner doesn't like metallics.

This is Miss Macie modeling one of her dance costumes. She's been in dance for several years now and is very good. She advanced last year out of the girls in her age slot and is dancing with "the big girls" as she puts it. Love this child and am looking forward to seeing her and her mom tomorrow at the Mother/Daughter Tea.

And another one finally off of the table. Would you believe photo from Christmas 2021? This is my Great Nephew Jason and his family. Jay is also our Pastor.

I shamefully CASEd this from a LO that someone posted on FB a while back. My version doesn't quite work but "it's done!" Finally got smart and didn't scan this one.

It feels good to have a little bit of inspiration hitting the brain again! I think the jumping off point was finding a few tutorials I wanted to try.

Wonderful!

The first page is as gorgeous as the subject of the photo,
and I like the second one so much, I may have to scraplift
it. :)

It's good to "see" you, Pam.
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been well, but glad you are on the mend and able to get back into the craft room.
Your pages are great and I hope you will keep 'em coming.
