Christmas tag with Tim Holtz products

Post by Keitha »

Bought my share of new Tim Holtz Christmas products; I have never been able to resist them. Getting back in the crafting groove after a crazy summer working, so this is a scraplift (taglift?) of a tag Nina-Marie from Simon Says Stamp made. I haven't added to my collection of Tim Tags for years, but I think that's where this is destined to go.

Fabulous tag, Keitha! I was thinking myself that I need to do something with my (way too vast) collection of Timmy stuff and tags are a great idea. Plus, I had to buy that bow die set myself. ;)

Beautiful! I had my eye on that bow die also but haven't taken the plunge yet.

It’s beautiful! I hadn’t seen the bow die set. You do such a great job of choosing colors for the layered dies.

Pam, when I first started scrapping and didn't really know what my style was, I bought a LOT of coloured cardstock - figured I needed a few sheets to match every collection, right? I eventually learned that I prefer patterned paper to cardstock for a layout background, and back in the day wasn't a cardmaker so declared I could scrap in a World Without Cardstock. That was true for more than a decade, and yet I still had that bin of the stuff. Now, if I want a c/s background it's white - a conscious choice for all my Route 66 pages - but as I've started making cards and using dies that rainbow of cardstock has come in handy. Just as well I'm cutting it up; much of it has faded edges, even though I've kept it out of the light as much as possible. All that to say, I have many shades and tones of pretty much every colour, making it easier to find options for the layered dies. It used to bug me if the textures on the cardstock pieces for whatever I was making didn't match, but for the most part I've gotten over that. I figure that even if I can still see it when the die-cuts are assembled, hardly anyone else will notice.

Keitha, that is one neat bow die. Just might have to have it! ;) The tag is just perfect. Great use of the multi colored cardstock!

I AM starting over! Not with product - goodness knows there's enough of that here - but with technique and inspiration!
