The colors are fantastic Jill! And I wish I'd seen this before I did mine, because I think the white borders around the photos make a HUGE difference in this layout. I think that my photos feel a little lost on my layout, but I like how yours isn't losing the photos.

Here's mine... I do like it, and this was one of those that I had the 6x6 pad chosen for right away because of the theme. I'm also missing this girl today, because she's been out of the house for a week now, and today was her first day of college classes. So much has changed in the short years since sweet 16. It seems forever ago. But it also has all just gone so fast! It's making me a bit maudlin today.

There were a lot of moving parts to this one, sort of like a Lego creation. I ended up covering up part of the design by adding a 6x4 photo, moved the title to the top and the journaling to the bottom to balance it out. The scanner turns gold to black, so the lettering I used is actually pink and gold. I, too, wish I'd seen Jill's LO first because the white really helps highlight the photos!

Pam - I love your version of this. It looks really great with the title up at the top. I also felt like part of my title got lost in the chaos of the triangles. And I also like the 6x4 photo instead of all of the little ones. I'm making a note on my sketch printout about what you did and it might actually encourage me to use this sketch again. I definitely like the triangle effect better than squares or rectangles.

Funny thing about adding that 4x6 is that it's hiding a quilt pattern that I really liked. Not sure what the pattern is called but it looked like the toy we used to blow and it would spin - whirligig? It was my favorite part of the entire LO and then I covered it. I think if I ever use this sketch again I'll spend a little more time working out a pattern with the triangles - a quilt pattern would make a great heritage LO and I still have old family photos that need to be used. I've just been a bit lazy about doing the restoration work on them since my eyes aren't exactly what they used to be.

I know what you mean about that pattern, and I like that aspect too. I had all of my triangles laid out wrong initially, and I knew something didn't look right, and then I figured out that there was that pattern there. Not that it really matters, but once I figured it out, I liked the outcome better.

This would have been easier if I had a paper pad to use instead of scraps!

Terrific pages, ladies. Jill, I agree the white borders really make your photos the star of the show.
Julie, that looks like a fun party. I don't think I have any photos of my daughter and her friends as teenagers.
Pam P, I like how calming your colour scheme is, really tames the chaos of all those triangles.
Pam C, that's a terrific welcome baby page. Are you trying to tell us you don't have any 6x6 paper pads?

I have a box full of 6x6 paper pads.
What I didn’t have was anything in this color palate.

Have spent a bunch of time today printing out the files for this class and realized how much content I’ve skipped over. This class is very much worth much more than she charged. Once it’s all printed, I’m going to go have it bound. My printer won’t print both sides of a sheet of paper so I might spring for having it printed at the copy center as well.
