July 2021 Card Challenge…standby…

Post by paddlegal »

My friends, I will get a challenge up soon. I have delayed working at this because last week I started back to organizing the special day to honor my dear Bob that couldn’t happen last year due to covid and quarantine. I will tell you that I have been downright paralyzed and overwhelmed just thinking about it. But Jana to the rescue. My dear friend Jana (who is totally responsible for getting me into paper crafting) is pretty much taking over this daunting important day.

Charley and Leigh Ann, his girlfriend, found a place to live in April. With him gone it has just intensified how much I miss Bob living by myself. I know you will bear with me and I hope to get something up to challenge you this weekend.

Thank you dear friends for your patience.

Re: July 2021 Card Challenge…standby…OK Ready! Washi Tape!

Post by paddlegal »

You ALL are the BEST! Thank you so much for your sweet and encouraging words. Feeling a bit better now that Bob’s memorial plans are coming together little by little. I’m just acknowledging these moments when I feel like I’ve been slammed in the chest with reality. Meditation has been helping and my grief therapist too.

OK, I did have an idea and wanted to revisit washi tape. Oh no, not washi again! Well I recently bought an organizer for my washi and thought I’d therefore better use some, right?

There are tons of ideas of course on Pinterest to go look for cards and LO ideas too. Covering card stock with layers of washi and then die cutting shapes and words is one great way to use up several tapes at a time. I also learned that not all tapes have a long shelf life. I had several just continue to tear and peel so they got tossed. Another really easy use is one wide band of washi, a stamp sentiment and done! So pull out those ignored washi tapes, see if any are still useable and give this a try.

And again thank you. Love you all.

They're all beautiful! I really like the bold colors you've used.
Washi? I have a love/hate relationship with it. There's just SO MUCH on each roll and what I have in my stash seems so specific.
I'll take your challenge and use your cards for inspiration. I can do this.

Thank you for the compliments! These cards, especially the 2 that just used strips, as is, are really easy and fast to make.

Look forward to seeing what you can come up with. I’m headed to a Target this morning and smack me if I buy any more washi, LOL. But it could happen.
